Duress partners at Lancaster University are seeking a Hydrological Modelling Research Associate to support the Lancaster team’s objectives and delivering data (observations and model results) to other DURESS partner institutions. The position is full time for 14 months and the candidate will need relevant experience in Matlab programming and analysis of hydrological time-series data.

New DURESS PDRA position – environmental and ecological economics

A new PDRA post in environmental and ecological economics is being advertised through Aberystwyth University. The PDRA will be responsible for delivering the ‘valuation’ theme, which will assess the economic benefits / costs of changes to provisioning,
regulating, and cultural services in upland rivers. The successful candidate should have A PhD in environmental / ecological economics, economics, sociology, anthropology, or a related subject and have experience of undertaking interdisciplinary research. Postdoctoral position on Ecosystem service sustainability

Cardiff University’s Sustainable Places Research Institute is advertising a postdoctoral position on Ecosystem service sustainability – deadline 30th July 2013.

This 2 year position will develop place-based and inter-disciplinary research on Ecosystem Services by exploring: i) ecosystem valuation, including cultural and supporting services; ii) river catchment management for multiple objectives and iii) governance models to guide appropriate management.
